Cosmetology Schools Take Part in Makeup, Hair Tradeshow

Cosmetology schools get a lot of credit for teaching students the finer points of hair styling, skin care, and even nail care. But as one trade show points out, beauty school is about learning how to be a stylist, too. Cosmetologists are an integral part of the beauty industry. Even the make-up artists for big name celebrities did their time at a cosmetology school before hitting it big in Hollywood. A tradeshow geared toward students at cosmetology schools and those taking makeup artist classes is set to shine on Saturday:

“The Trade Show takes place from tomorrow until next Monday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Port-of- Spain.

“The competition entitled, Beautiful Woman 2012, will introduce a synergy of make-up, hair, nails, clothing and accessories that must culminate into a beauty look that is contemporary in flair and will excite any fashion forward woman today,” according to a press release issued on the event. Beautiful Woman 2012 will take place tomorrow from 3pm at the San Fernando Room, Crowne Plaza, Port-of- Spain. All members of the public are invited to attend.

Hunte, who is the co-ordinator of the competition, has selected 18 finalists from local cosmetology schools. They will be judged on the creative use of Maybelline products in their interpretation of the theme, “Beautiful Woman 2012;” mastery of make-up skill; and execution of style. The winner will go home with the grand prize of a One Year Junior make-up Artist Contract with Maybelline New York and a scholarship for an Advanced make-up Artistry Training Programme at the Ephraim Hunte International make-up Academy along with cosmetic hampers and much more.
